Your excavator’s crushing clamp might be being used incorrectly!

I’m sure everyone is familiar with excavator shear crushers. But do you know what precautions should be taken when using a shear crusher? Taking the Juxiang hydraulic shear crusher as an example, let me walk you through the correct operating procedures and important precautions for using a shear crusher.

1. Carefully read the operation manual for the hydraulic crushing tongs to prevent damage to both the hydraulic crushing tongs and the excavator, and to operate them effectively.

2. Before operation, check whether the bolts and connectors are loose and whether there are any leaks in the hydraulic lines.

3. Do not operate the hydraulic crushing pliers when the piston rod of the hydraulic cylinder is fully extended or fully retracted.

4. Hydraulic hoses must not be bent sharply or subjected to abrasion. If any damage is detected, replace the hose immediately to prevent rupture and injury.

5. When connecting and installing the hydraulic crushing tongs to a hydraulic excavator or other construction machinery, the working pressure and flow rate of the host machine’s hydraulic system must meet the technical specifications of the hydraulic crushing tongs. The “P” port of the hydraulic crushing tongs should be connected to the host machine’s high-pressure oil line, and the “A” port should be connected to the host machine’s return oil line.

6. The optimal hydraulic oil temperature for the hydraulic crushing pliers during operation is 50–60 degrees Celsius; the temperature must not exceed 80 degrees Celsius. Otherwise, the hydraulic load should be reduced.

7. Staff members should check the sharpness of the excavator’s shredding jaws daily. If the blades are found to be dull, they should be replaced promptly.

8. Do not put your hands or any part of your body under the blade or near any rotating parts to avoid accidents.

The excavator’s hydraulic crushing tongs feature a large opening, jaw teeth, and a rebar cutter. The design of the large opening allows them to grip beams of larger diameters, making the work easier and more convenient. The specially shaped jaw teeth are designed to firmly hold concrete blocks, wedging them in place and crushing them for rapid fragmentation. Extremely robust and highly wear-resistant, these jaw teeth, combined with the integrated rebar cutter, enable the hydraulic crushing tongs to perform two tasks simultaneously: crushing concrete and cutting exposed rebar, thereby significantly enhancing the efficiency of the crushing operation.
